Home alone with nothing to do? Paint your windows

Gardener Gavin Smith has been keeping busy during lockdown by painting pictures on his living room windows, while his wife Alison, an essential-worker, cares for the elderly in their homes. Marlborough District Council gardener Gavin Smith took up his paintbrushes soon after lockdown started, decorating his living room window with a colourful “Paw Patrol” pup. The painting was inspired by his 2-year-old granddaughter Chloe, who was “loving Paw Patrol at the moment”, Smith said. Many people displayed teddy bears in their windows during last year's lockdown, inspired by the children’s book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, written by Michael Rosen. Helen Nickisson/Stuff On Thursday, Gavin Smith had started a second design, this time of Paddington Bear, on a second window of his Witherlea home.
