Hundreds of students started demonstrating around 10am on Monday blocking the capital's New Market intersection causing a traffic gridlock in and around the area. Protesters say they will continue with their agitations until their demand is met. "When we raised the issue with the teachers nine months ago, they had assured us moving the education ministry. College authorities said their attempts to negotiate with the students has not worked. We have requested them to lift it," Ramna police's Deputy Commissioner Maruf Hossain Sardar told bdnews24.com.
