On Monday, German chancellor Angela Merkel also made an appeal against nationalism in an acceptance speech on Monday evening for the Fulbright Commission's annual prize. "That is why we, those who bear responsibility today, must carry on the lessons of what the world experienced with the First and Second World Wars."
