Malta, an island nestled in the Mediterranean between North Africa and Sicily, in Italy, has long been a firm favourite with British travellers. It offers the dreams holiday mix of sea, sunshine and architectural wonder and is just a short haul flight to the UK. The UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) today revised and reviewed its advice to UK travellers set to visit the Eurozone destination. It added: “British and Maltese nationals are increasingly being targeted by scam artists operating globally. “The scams come in many forms (romance and friendship, business ventures, work and employment opportunities) and can pose great financial risk to victims.
