Holden confirms date for end of Australian Commodore productionSUPPLIED Holden plans to build 30,000 more Aussie Commodores before production ends on October 20. Holden has confirmed October 20, 2017 as the last day of car production for its Elizabeth plant in Australia, bringing to an end its local manufacturing operations for good. The end date is designed to give employees and suppliers 40 weeks notice, working in with production schedules. SUPPLIED Demise of Elizabeth factory brings six decades of Holden's Australian carmaking to an end... for good. While the end of Australian production means the end of the Australian-designed and built Commodore, the name will continue with a new European-sourced large car from 2018.
