Siddharth Maharia, who was with his relative in the car, was arrested under Section 304 of the IPC (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder). He, however, claimed that he was not driving the car and also denied having consumed alcohol. Siddharth Maharia, son of Independent MLA from Fatehpur, Nandkishore Maharia, was allegedly driving a BMW car at a speed of approximately 100 km/hr when he hit an autorickshaw and then rammed a PCR van nearby, the police said.
