After a whole two-week locked in taping under the new normal in TV production, the Philippine remake of hit Korean drama series “Descendants of the Sun” (DOTS) finally returns on GMA Network with all new episodes tonight at 9 p.m. Forced off the air by the pandemic, the proudly Filipino production remained very much in public consciousness having gained international recognition in the middle of quarantines. Bringing pride to the country amid this global crisis, lead star Dingdong Dantes won the “Asian Star Prize” at the 15th Seoul International Drama Awards for his portrayal of Captain Lucas Manalo a.k.a. Big Boss in the series, while the entire production was named “The Most Popular Foreign Drama of the Year” via live digital ceremonies early in September. Besides returning on air tonight, the cast was also eager to share their excitement over Netflix Philippines’ acquisition of DOTS, where the series begins to stream on November 13.
