Only limited numbers of lawmakers, many wearing masks, are allowed in the House chamber at once to vote. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., called the lawsuit a “sad stunt.” The nation’s virus-related death toll reached 100,000 Wednesday. Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of the law school at the University of California, Berkeley, expects the suit to be dismissed.
