Historic stone wall spoiled

Luggate Community Association chairman Graeme Perkins and his dog Mac look over the damage done to an historic stone wall which makes up part of the old Luggate ferry. The stones below Mr Perkins were part of the wall which was built in 1882 and have been disturbed during the past two weeks. A stone wall which made up part of a historically significant anchor pit used by the old Luggate Ferry has been damaged in the past month. Luggate Community Association chairman Graeme Perkins said he could not understand why someone had decided to disturb the old stone wall. "It’s not a big area of wall but it was original and did have quite a bit of historical significance for the area," Mr Perkins said.
