This year’s theme is “Build Worker-Owner Unity, Take Oath for Development”The historic May Day is being observed in Bangladesh—and elsewhere across the world—with due respect and various events. Commemorating the historic dayAkin to previous years, the Labour and Employment Ministry has drawn up two-day programs to observe the day at the state level. A colourful rally is supposed to begin at the Dainik Bangla crossing in the morning and end in front of the National Press Club, on Topkhana Road, after parading different thoroughfares via: Rajuk Avenue, Bangabandhu Avenue, Zero Point, and the National Press Club. On May 2, the ministry will arrange a seminar on workers’ rights at the National Press Club at 3pm marking the historic day. Bangladesh Television (BTV), Bangladesh Betar, and other private television channels and radio stations are airing special programs marking the day.
