MORE than 200 hikers showed up for a peaceful protest against the closure of a popular hiking trail in Taman Tun Abdul Razak, Ampang (Taman TAR). Bukit Kembara Hikers Group chairman Sunny Low expressed dismay that a number of trees had been cut deliberately to block the hiking trail. When contacted, Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin said she hoped both the hikers and residents association could come to a compromise. “But the hikers also comprise Taman TAR residents and are appealing to be allowed to access the trail. The hikers have embarked on a signature campaign seeking to obtain official access to the trail.
