As a management trainer and consultant, I am always seeking local success stories to use as case studies. Recently, I was fortunate to attend a two-day Entrepreneurship Summit in Kuala Lumpur and saw Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, our homegrown hero. I have played many of his videos in my training programmes but this event was mind blowing. We are really proud of AirAsia and the many other entrepreneurs like Tan Sri Syed Mohktar Al-Bukhary, Datuk Jimmy Choo and those behind the other local brands like Secret Recipe, Grab, etc. In this respect, we hope the local academic community together with local trainers will highlight more of our homegrown success stories and business models to spark entrepreneurship among our youths and develop more Malaysian role models.
