Highlanders name three new backs for South African tripGRANT MATTHEW / FAIRFAX NZ Manawatu halfback Jamie Booth is poised to make his Super Rugby debut for the Highlanders in South Africa. Ben Smith and Malakai Fekitoa join Aaron Smith in missing the South African trip but they are scheduled to join the squad in Buenos Aires for the final leg of their road trip against the Jaguares. The squad includes another aspiring Super Rugby debutant, Otago first five-eighth Fletcher Smith. The Highlanders will debut a new halfback when they resume their Super Rugby title defence, with All Black Aaron Smith set for a post-Wales series rest and Japanese understudy Fumiaki Tanaka sidelined with injury. Bay of Plenty's former national sevens rep Te Aihe Toma and Manawatu's Jamie Booth have both been named in the Highlanders 25-man squad that leaves for South Africa on Saturday ahead of next Sunday's (NZ time) clash with the Kings.
