The service connects Vizhinjam port in the capital and Marine Drive in Kochi and Beypore port: Decks have been cleared to launch the country’s first high-speed hydrofoil ferry service connecting the Vizhinjam port in the State capital and Marine Drive in Kochi and Beypore port in Kozhikode. The first service would be launched from Kochi Marine Drive to Beypore before Onam, official sources told The Hindu. The Marine Drive-Vizhinjam port service will be launched later. The Cochin Port Trust has waived all charges for the hydrofoil service. A National Transportation Planning and Research Centre study has found that the service is feasible.
