Marcus CooperNew East Otago High School principal Marcus Cooper has been invited to visit China next month, as part of a plan to develop sister school-type relationships in Wenzhou and Hangzhou, cities close to Shanghai. He was invited to visit high schools in China, following a visit with Canterbury high school pupils, including his previous school in Oxford, in North Canterbury, he said. The New Zealand programme director Mary McRostie will visit East Otago High School on Thursday, February 21 to outline the programme. EOHS may become the first high school in Otago to be involved in the programme. The exchange visits could be short-term, or possibly placements of Chinese pupils to East Otago High School for a term, or a year, Mr Cooper said.
