A high-profile sportsman alleged to have connections to an international drug syndicate will be named on Friday. The Crown claimed the sportsman was involved in helping transfer money for the syndicate, buying drugs from Finau and offered to source a supplier. Last October, the Court of Appeal ruled an earlier High Court decision denying him name suppression was not fundamentally wrong. It was that change that resulted in a second appeal to the High Court and Court of Appeal.
