Nolan Naess scored a game-high 20 points for the Laguna Beach High School boys’ basketball team in a 65-32 nonleague loss to Mater Dei on Monday night at Laguna Beach High. The loss to the powerhouse Monarchs (18-0) was the first of the season for surging Laguna Beach (12-1). Chase Hall scored five points Monday for Laguna Beach, and Jackson Sirianni added four points. Laguna Beach plays at Fountain Valley on Wednesday in a Sunset Conference crossover game.
