High Court stops exhumation of Eldoret teacher's body over murder suspicion

The High Court in Eldoret has stopped the exhumation of the body of a female teacher whose family suspects she was murdered last December. Osinde went to court on December 23, 2018, under a certificate of urgency seeking an order to exhume the body of her daughter. She wanted the body exhumed for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death of her daughter after she was buried by her husband, Oginda on December 21, 2018. After the lower court ordered that the body be exhumed, the husband quickly moved the High Court where he got a temporary stay order to stop the exhumation. He dismissed claims that his wife died at home and insisted Kemunto died in hospital.
