Four days later, the High Court issued a rule asking why the amendment would not be declared unconstitutional. The 165-page verdict written by Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury was uploaded on the Supreme Court website on Thursday. On Nov 5, 2014, nine Supreme Court lawyers filed the petition challenging the amendment’s legal basis. After finishing hearing the matter on Mar 10 this year, the court had scheduled the verdict for May 5. Saju said the matter will be presented before the Supreme Court’s chamber judge after the full verdict (including Justice Kamal’s version) is published.
