The Kurigram returning officer had rejected Sarker’s application to contest the election. The Election Commission had also scrapped the review Sarker had filed on the decision. But the High Court bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil stayed the EC’s decision on Sunday based on a petition from Sarker.
