AFM Hassan Khan, a Banasree resident, has filed a writ petition with the High Court, along with the report. It also issued a rule asking defendants to explain their inaction in preventing heavy vehicles from using the road. Barrister Golam Sarwar Payel, who argued for the petitioner, said heavy vehicles have been plying the road leading to serious cracks and holes. The report claims that neither drivers nor the traffic authorities are paying heed to the signposts that made the road off-limits to heavy vehicles. The letter said trucks, covered vans, lorries, and fuel tankers ply the road which is meant for light and medium vehicles.
