High Council of State agrees to reshuffle Presidential Council


High Council of State (HCS) agreed to reshuffle the executive authority in Libya to a Presidential Council of a three members: a head and two deputies, in addition to a separate government. In a statement on Monday, the HCS hoped that the House of Representatives (HoR) would positively consider the step so the division can end in Libya. “We are ready to appoint and dismiss sovereign posts’ incumbents as per Article 15 of the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA. It also called on state authorities to handle the financial crisis in Libya, urging for unity at the military institutions under a civilian authority away from political conflicts. “We call on the HoR to activate Article 23 of the LPA in order to reach consensus on the constitution so Libyans can have their say.” The HCS added.
