Certain Windows 10 apps may also tap into the location services data. In the Privacy settings box, select Location from the list on the left side. Here, you can also clear the location history file that Windows 10 and certain apps may have been saving from your travels. To control the Windows 10 location services, go to the Start menu and to Settings, then choose Privacy; if you use the Cortana virtual assistant, you can also ask it to “open privacy settings” to get there. Like other software systems and services, Windows 10 uses location information — gleaned from a device’s network connection, GPS function or other sources — to provide more accurate results for things like maps and web searches for nearby businesses.
