The Department of Narcotic Control (DNC) have nabbed three alleged drug peddlers and seized 750 grams of heroin worth Tk75 lakh from the captial’s Gendaria area on Thursday morning. The detainees are Bacchu Mia, Sohag and Mahinur Begum. DNC’s Deputy Director Mukul Jyoti Chakma told the Dhaka Tribune: “Acting on a tip-off, one of our teams conducted a drive at Namapra Railway Track and caught the drug peddlers.”DNC officials have also recovered 750 grams of heroin, and Tk30,000 cash which the drug peddlers had earned by selling banned narcotics. Mukul added that the ring-leader of the drug peddlers, Rahima Begum, had managed to flee the scene when she sensed the presence of the law enforcers. DNC handed over the detainees to Gendaria Police Station where a case was filed in connection to this matter.
