The interviewer was pleased that dairy prices are high; the farmer pointed out that costs have increased. All of this might come as a surprise to those who don’t listen to the radio first thing on Saturday morning, so for anybody saying it ain’t so, here’s a suggestion – take a farmer out to lunch. Take a farmer out to lunch and find out how much he or she has invested in environmental protection. Maybe the farmer could also explain why farming isn’t the terrible life for terrible people that is sometimes portrayed. So when lockdown ends, the first step is to take a farmer out to lunch.
