Business News of Monday, 16 February 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comThe National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced stricter Quality of Service (QoS) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for mobile telecommunications in Ghana, aimed at improving voice, data, and messaging services nationwide. The new regulations take immediate effect, according to a statement issued on February 15, 2026. The amended KPIs lower the maximum call drop rate from 3% to less than 1%, introduce a minimum call connection success rate of 95%, and require a mean opinion score (MOS) above 3.0 for 2G voice services. For data, 3G download speeds must now exceed 1 Mbps, while SMS and MMS messages must achieve 98% delivery success within five seconds. Additionally, consumers experiencing poor mobile service are encouraged to file complaints through NCA’s official channels.
