After Wednesday's faux pas by Indian Oil, its website on Thursday showed that the prices of petrol and diesel reduced by by 7 paise and 5 paise per litre respectively. With the new change, petrol in New Delhi is retailing at Rs 78.35 a litre and Diesel 69.25 per litre. In Mumbai, after the new revision, a litre of petrol costs Rs 86.16 in Mumbai. In Kolkata and Chennai, the prices of petrol are Rs 80.98 and Rs 81.35 per litre. The Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) in a statement clarified that the petrol prices in Delhi have gone down by one paisa and not 60 paise, as reported earlier.
