Playground mode, as it turned out, was taking only a relatively short hiatus. Fortnite: Battle Royale's popular limited time Mode showed up towards the end of Season 4 after a spate of technical difficulties, but then it left around the same time Season 5 showed up. It's unclear if that's happening yet, but now we know when it's coming back: Playground Mode will be back on Wednesday, July 25th. Playground Mode is Fortnite: Battle Royale without the battle royale part. It's here that we start to see the future of Fortnite, not just the future of Fortnite: Battle Royale.
