LGBTQ advocates reject the idea that freedom of speech and artistic expression are what’s at stake in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a memo in October reversing workplace protections for transgender employees on the basis of “religious freedom.”
