CNN, which had the most viewers in the demo, secured a total of 3.05 million viewers, and MSNBC garnered 2.72 million and came in second in the demo. In comparison, Trump's first State of the Union—or Joint Session speech—in February only garnered 3 million tweets. The hearing came at the end of a days-long buildup in which the news cycle was dominated with anticipation of the hearing. While Fox News garnered the most viewers, or 3.181 million, during Thursday night prime time, MSNBC won the demo with 757,000 average viewers.
