In a statement released on March 5, 2026, it said the industrial action had become necessary due to unresolved issues with the government. CLOGSAG calls off strike after meeting with governmentThe strike follows a prior notice of intention to strike, formally issued by the National Executive Council (NEC) of CLOGSAG on February 19, 2026. CLOGSAG also notified the National Labour Commission of its intended strike, giving the government nearly three weeks to resolve the matter before the strike deadline. CLOGSAG declares nationwide strike over controversial appointment of RegistrarMeanwhile, the Minister of Labour, Jobs and Employment Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, has acknowledged the frustrations of CLOSSAG, noting that the government is treating the issue with utmost seriousness.
