Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was captured by Pakistan on Wednesday after Pakistan Air Force shot down his MiG-21 fighter jet, is a skilled soldier who was known as the ‘Veerappan of his course’ among his batchmates. [Veerappan was an Indian outlaw who had similar mustache and sideburns]. In other words, he was so hardworking and skilled that he outshined all his course mates during training. In this picture, the Indian pilot can be seen with his wife and son. His wife is a retired squadron leader of the Indian Air Force as well.
