Courtesy of KIND Healthy SnacksThe Def Leppard song "Pour Some Sugar on Me" is not about snack foods. The trouble is you can't always tell how much sugar is really in a snack food, as a KIND Healthy Snacks pop-up shop called "Sweeteners Uncovered" is trying to demonstrate. Currently, the official Nutrition Facts Label does not require disclosure of the amount of "added sugar" in a product. "Added sugar" is the amount of sugar in a food or beverage item beyond what naturally occurs in the item. Similarly, searching an ingredient label just for "sugar" is not going to find all the added sugar.
