The obvious issue was, once I put both yearly contributions into my Roth IRA, I had to decide what to do with the money. Here are the ETFs I bought for my Roth IRA. FTECThis is a sector ETF, which implies that the fund invests in a smaller subset of the top companies. Unlike the tech funds, the real estate ETFs I looked into did not seem to yield higher returns than the S&P this year, or over a 10-year period. However, a real estate ETF appeals to me because, while the real estate industry can certainly be volatile, it’s unlikely to be obsolete when I retire in 35 years.
