06 Nov 2023| 06:54am ISTPWD to penalise builders seeking water connection after project completionTeam HeraldPANJIM: Builders who do not obtain prior Water Availability Certificate from PWD and seek connections for their projects after completion will have to pay two times of the applicable water charges for a period of 10 years, warned PWD. “Builders/Developers who have not obtained prior Water Availability Certificate from PWD for domestic and other purposes to their Building/ /Projects and who are now seeking release of water connection for such projects or to any future projects taken up without obtaining prior Water Availability Certificate from PWD shall be bound to pay water charges at a special water tariff i.e. two times of the applicable water charges for both Domestic and Non Domestic connections for an initial period of 10 years,” states a notification issued by PWD in this regards. “It is advisable that the Water Availability Certificate for domestic and other purposes is obtained from the Department by the Developer at the commencement of the project,” the notification adds.
