25 Jan 2023| 06:39am ISTMapusa SDM gives 5 days to St Xavier’s College admin to decide date for installation of students councilElected representatives of students council say they are not affiliated to any political partyTeam HeraldMAPUSA: The Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mapusa is learnt to have given five days to St Xavier’s College, Mapusa to decide the date for induction ceremony of the students council even as there is no official confirmation about it. After attending the joint meeting convened by SDM Yashaswini B, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) General Secretary Sahil Mahajan said that the SDM, Mapusa has asked St Xavier’s College administration to carry out the installation of student council by February 4. Four members of the college students council, principal and administrator of St Xavier’s College and Mapusa police attended the joint meeting in a bid to resolve the issue which aroused after the ABVP activists held a protest in college campus over non installation of the students council on Saturday. On the other hand, Mahajan said that their only demand was immediate induction of the elected students council in a democratic manner and issuing of formal letters to the students council. The elected representatives of students council said that they are not affiliated to any political party.
