“We have filed an application in the High Court seeking more time to declare the wildlife sanctuary as a Tiger Reserve. The High Court has not taken any decision to date. We are waiting for the decision,” the Chief Minister told reporters on the sidelines of an event in the city. The State government has missed the deadline set by the High Court of Bombay at Goa to declare the Mhadei forest complex as a Tiger Reserve. There is no protection from the High Court or the Supreme Court to pause or not to go ahead with the High Court order.
