In his message, the Governor said, “Diwali, the festival of lights is celebrated throughout the country with great gaiety and enthusiasm irrespective of caste, creed or religion. “May the celebrations of Diwali this year herald a brighter year of peace, prosperity and happiness for the people of this beautiful State,” he said. Sawant in his message said, “Diwali symbolises the victory of righteousness over evil, brightness over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and truth over falsity. Above all, let us learn to build an illumined society by respecting all humans and God's Creation around us.”
