27 Feb 2024| 06:46am ISTCourt directs cops to register FIR against former attorney of Tivim ComunidadeTeam HeraldPANJIM: The Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JMFC), Bicholim has directed the Colvale police to register an FIR against the former attorney of Comunidade of Tivim as per Chapter XII of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 and to submit the report to the Court within a period of 30 days. JMFC Judge Anuradha Andrade observed that the police officer did not register FIR inspite of commissioning of a cognisable office for reasons best known to him. The applicant had charged that Pereira being the attorney took illegally allegedly Rs 15.50 lakh from Zacarias Victor D’Souza i.e. the attorney of Keith Lewis and Gertie Lewis and illegally issued a NOC dated December 2, 2019, granting easmentary road access though the property bearing survey No 345/1 of village Tivim belonging to the Comunidade of Tivim. But in the meeting it was decided that Rs 15.50 lakh be paid to the Comunidade by Lewis if NOC had to be granted.
