Michael Hendry celebrates his win. Photo from Getty. Michael Hendry has won the New Zealand Open, the first Kiwi to win the title for 14 years. Hendry won on the first playoff hole against Australian Brad Kennedy and New Zealander Ben Campbell after all three players were tied on 19 under after 72 holes. The Open was at Millbrook in Arrowtown and though yesterday started out wet, it stopped around noon and was chilly but dry in the afternoon.
