Ambassador Dr. Palitha Kohona met the Deputy Governor of Henan He Jinping and the Deputy Mayor of Zhengzhou, Wu Fu Min. He was received warmly. The Deputy Governor detailed the current economic performance of the rich Henan province. He complemented Sri Lanka as the star of Indian Ocean and recalled Henan's strong Buddhist links with Sri Lanka in the past and hoped for similar links today on agriculture, manufacturing, trade, Buddhism, tourism, and energy. Responding to Dr. Kohona's request, He Jinping enthusiastically supported establishing a Sri Lanka National Pavilion at the enormous Bairong Wholesale Market which would facilitate and accelerate the entry of more Sri Lankan products to the lucrative Chinese market.
