more-inA 28-year-old motorcylcist was arrested on Saturday for ramming into a police constable while trying to evade nakabandi in Andheri on Saturday morning. The police said that police constable Sanjay Shelar (30), who was part of the drive, saw a helmetless biker, identified as Nitesh Singh Chauhan (28), approaching the barricades. Senior Police Inspector Subhash Khanvilkar, Oshiwara police station, said, “Chauhan tried to evade the nakabandi by speeding past the barricades but ended up hitting Mr. Shelar in the process. Both of them fell to the ground and were taken to the Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon, where they were treated for their injuries. Chauhan was also found to be drunk at the time of the incident.”Mr. Khanvilkar said that neither Chauhan nor Mr. Shelar sustained any serious injuries and were discharged after being treated.
