High speed diesel price increa­sed by Rs3.96 per litre, light speed diesel price Rs6.25 and kerose­ne Rs6.79In an ominous development hours before the start of the new year, the government jacked up fuel prices on Sunday, increasing the rate of petrol by Rs4.06 per litre (5.2 per cent) to Rs81.53 per litre from Rs77.47. The price of high speed diesel has been increased by Rs3.96 per litre to 89.91 per litre from Rs85.95 per litre. Light speed diesel price will now be available at Rs58.37 per litre after an increase of Rs6.25. The price of superior kerosene oil has been jacked up by Rs6.79 per litre to Rs62.30 per litre from Rs57.58. He added that oil prices were increasing in the international market.
