A man has been flown by helicopter to Taranaki Base Hospital after a fall at the Moki Track in northeast Taranaki. Police and Land Search and Rescue were called after the 54-year-old tramper fell 6-metres down a bank at the walking track in Tahora. A police communications spokeswoman said the man had broken an arm and leg. A medic was flown to the scene, and the man was winched out about 6pm.
