(File Photo)Calls to vegetation and driftwood fires near the beach have kept Taranaki firefighters busy this weekend. The most significant blaze, which affected a 1.5 hectare section of grass and needed a helicopter to help fight it, was on Waiinu Beach Rd in Waitotara. Earlier on Saturday, at 3.10pm, a Hāwera crew attended a vegetation fire on South Rd in Tokaora. A fire crew from Rahotu was also sent to investigate a log fire at the end of Coast Rd in Warea.
