The council has committed up to $100,000. Residents have a right to know how far the city is willing to go. Putting a number on legal costs seems arbitrary, especially if the case moves forward. The city should commit to winning the case, regardless of the legal costs involved. It’s hard to say how far the council should go in committing taxpayer money.
