McCain, the daughter of McCain Foods Limited’s late billionaire co-founder Wallace McCain, asked provincial courts earlier this year to annul her brief marriage to Melanson. Melanson has denied those claims as a “smear campaign,” although McCain reasserts them in her new filing. In his response, Melanson said Eleanor’s “mean-spirited and vindictive actions” toward his kids brok down the marriage.
