Hebron man faces sexual assault charge

By THOMAS P. CALDWELL, LACONIA DAILY SUNHAVERHILL — Roger A. Champagne, 54, of 97 Cooper Road, Hebron, is facing a special felony charge of aggravated felonious sexual assault following his indictment on Jan. 19 by a Grafton County Superior Court Grand Jury. The indictment also includes the Class B felony charge of second-degree assault for allegedly strangling his victim on Dec. 5, 2017. An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but an independent jury’s decision, after hearing from police, that sufficient evidence exists to warrant a court trial. Also indicted during the January session was John Nesteruk, 48, of 115 Currier Road, Hill, on Class B felony charges of second-degree assault and three counts of reckless conduct.
