There was intense traffic congestion in the Banani, Airport Road and Uttara areas of Dhaka on Wednesday, causing immense suffering to commuters. After waiting for hours on buses, many started walking towards their destination on foot in the morning. The jam was noticeably severe on the stretch of the road from Dhaka airport to Abdullahpur. On the other hand, a long tailback of vehicles occupied Bishwa Road, Khilkhet, Kawla, Uttara and Abdullahpur roads, extending to Banani, Mohakhali and Gulshan roads too. According to locals, the Uttara-Airport road of the capital has been experiencing unbearable traffic jams for the past few days due to several development projects and poor road conditions.
