Heavy rains to continue for next 48 hours: IMD

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rains for Mumbai and the Konkan region during the next 48 hours. For the second consecutive day on Sunday, heavy rains continued to lash several parts of the city. KS Hosalikar, deputy director-general (western region), IMD, said that the city will continue to get heavy to very heavy rainfall until Tuesday. Eastern suburbs saw heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours between August 19 and 20 (8 am - 8 am). The heavy rains led to waterlogging in Sion, Dadar, Mumbai Central, Kurla, Andheri, and Sakinaka affecting traffic movement.
